What we're looking for
Spectral is seeking a talented Research Engineer who will help us build our next CAD foundation models. You'll work with our research team to to advance the state-of-the-art in AI for engineering physical systems.
Responsibilities
- Build performant ML training and inference pipelines in collaboration with the rest of the research team.
- Work with researchers to optimize training pipelines (pre training, post training, RL) and build eval harnesses
- Build RL environments for RLVR with explicit spatial targets
- Develop methods to automate CAD data extraction, encoding, reconstruction, and verification.
- Implement methods for synthetic data generation and augmentation for CAD generative modeling.
- Contribute useful ideas and insights for design decisions - the ideal person in this role is highly curious and energetic.
- Experience solving problems that stump others. Must love the process of solving hard problems.
- Collaborate with a small, elite team of researchers and engineers across domains.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in relevant engineering field. Bachelors-masters in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Math, or a related technical field a plus.
- High GPA in a competitive undergrad program is a big plus
- Experience with generative CAD modeling or other 3D domains, embodied AI, or image/video/world modeling.
