What we're looking for

Spectral Labs is seeking a talented Research Scientist who will help us design and architect our next foundation models for CAD. You'll work with our research team to to advance the state-of-the-art in AI for engineering physical systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on experiment design, rigorously pose and answer questions.
• Design thoughtful, tasteful, and appropriate evals for experiments.
• Collaborate with data team to ensure alignment of data with task.
• Design and pretrain models at scale for solving engineering problems, focused primarily on spatial tasks.
• Implement on-policy RL methods to teach generative models to create manufacturable designs.

Qualifications

• Loves to solve difficult, open ended problems. Has demonstrated ability to solve these in the past.
• PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Math, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant publications in top-tier venues of your field.
• Experience with generative CAD modeling or other 3D domains, embodied AI, or image/video/world modeling.
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning algorithms and synthetic data generation methods a plus.
